I took these photos in Scarborough harbour for my exam topic of 'Encounters'. A harbour is the point where many boats first encounter the sea and the point where they make their very last encounter too.
I didn't just take photos of the boats though, as I wanted to include the ropes, nets and seagulls into my work. These pictures run throughout my entire exam topic where I have replicated these images in different style with different materials.
I liked the contrast between the smooth lines of the ropes, the geometrical shapes on the masts of the boats and the gentle movement of the sea.
